Geelong superstar jeremy cameron is set in AFL concussion protocols after a brutal incident in Friday night’s loss to Port Adelaide.
There were alarm bells ringing for Cameron’s concussion when he acrobatically jumped through a pack in an attempt to grab a miracle stamp and landed with a crash on the ground.

His body hit the grass first, but that didn’t stop his head from slamming into the ground afterward in a whiplash-like motion.
Cameron remained motionless on the ground for a brief moment, but quickly raised his head and managed to stand up.
A club doctor came onto the field to assess Cameron, but he stayed on and played the remaining nine minutes of the contest.
He didn’t seem to show any effects from the accident.
However, further tests on Saturday diagnosed a delayed concussion.
“In accordance with the AFL’s concussion guidelines, Geelong medical staff immediately attended Cameron and conducted an HIA at the ground where he reported no symptoms and met all AFL requirements,” the Cats said in a statement.
“After further review of the video footage and in consultation with the observers at the ARC, it was determined that there were no criteria to immediately remove Cameron from the field for further evaluation.
“As a further check and still free of concussion symptoms, Cameron undertook and completed a normal SCAT6 concussion assessment after the game.
“As is the post-game process, Cameron was observed and re-evaluated on Saturday morning where he reported some concussion symptoms on a repeat SCAT6 and was diagnosed with a delayed concussion.”
7NEWS reporter Mitch Cleary said the AFL was happy with the way they handled him.
“The AFL looked at the way Geelong handled his header in the final term last night and they were happy with how it played out,” he said.
Cameron will miss the clash against Gold Coast in Darwin next Thursday and will be monitored over the next week.
The Cats have already signaled that fellow forward Tom Hawkins will be rested for the game.
